Four pieces written by Adele DelSavio, a contributing writer to Oswego
County Business Magazine, have been featured in a new book, From Eulogy
To Joy.
The book is an anthology of personal accounts of the grieving process
and its authors are people who have experienced grief firsthand in a
variety of situations: loss of parents, mates, children, siblings,
relatives and friends through accidents, illness, suicide, murder and
natural death.
The book was written to provide comfort and reassurance that grief is
intensely individual and, because of this, most responses to it are
appropriate. It addresses loss not so much as something to get over but
as something to grow through.
DelSavio's contributions to From Eulogy To Joy deal with the loss of
her 17-year-old son, Michael, who died in an accident in 1994. They
originally appeared in the Oswego Palladium-Times.
From Eulogy To Joy is available locally from the river's end bookstore,
19 W. Bridge St., Oswego, and can be ordered on the web at Xlibris.com.
